Welcome to PoliticalConcern. By accessing or using this website, creating an account, or posting content, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use this platform.
PoliticalConcern is a for-profit civic platform that lets voters compare candidates, discuss elections, and discover civic events. These Terms govern your use of the platform.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By visiting PoliticalConcern, creating an account, posting content, or making a payment, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms, along with our Privacy Statement and Cookies Statement.
You must be at least 13 years of age to use this platform. By using PoliticalConcern, you represent that you meet this age requirement.
2. User Accounts
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your password. Do not share your credentials.
- You must provide accurate registration information, including a valid email address and date of birth.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
- You may only maintain one account. Creating multiple accounts to evade suspension or moderation is prohibited.
- Email verification is required to access certain features. Unverified accounts inactive for 30 days may be deleted.
3. User-Generated Content
"User Content" means any text, links, event listings, profile information, or other material you post on PoliticalConcern.
- You retain ownership of your User Content.
- By posting, you grant PoliticalConcern a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to display, store, and distribute your User Content as necessary to operate the platform.
- You represent that you have the right to post your User Content and that it does not infringe any third party's intellectual property or privacy rights.
- We may remove any User Content that violates these Terms, at our sole discretion.
4. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
- Post spam, unsolicited advertisements, or repetitive content.
- Harass, threaten, or abuse other users.
- Post illegal content, including content that violates copyright, privacy, or defamation laws.
- Impersonate another person, candidate, or organization.
- Post false or misleading information about candidates, elections, or voting processes.
- Attempt to manipulate, scrape, or reverse-engineer the platform.
- Use the platform for any unlawful purpose or in violation of applicable laws or regulations.
- Post content that is obscene, hateful, or discriminatory based on race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, or other protected characteristics.
Violations may result in content removal, account suspension, or permanent ban.
5. Payment Terms
- Event posting fee: Submitting a civic event requires a one-time $1.00 USD fee per listing, payable by card (Stripe) or cryptocurrency (NowPayments).
- Donations: Donations to PoliticalConcern are voluntary and non-refundable unless required by law.
- No refunds: All payments (event fees and donations) are final and non-refundable, except where required by applicable law or in our sole discretion.
- Payment processors: Payment processing is handled by third-party providers (Stripe, NowPayments). Their terms and privacy policies govern those transactions.
6. Advertising Disclosure
PoliticalConcern is a for-profit, ad-supported platform. We display political and business advertisements to users. Advertisers may include political candidates, political action committees (PACs), advocacy organizations, and commercial businesses.
Advertisements are clearly presented and may be targeted based on general location or interests. Advertising content does not represent the views or endorsement of PoliticalConcern.
We are not responsible for the content or accuracy of third-party advertisements and do not endorse any advertiser or political position.
7. Limitation of Liability
PoliticalConcern is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of candidate information, election data, or user-generated content.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, PoliticalConcern shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the platform, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to PoliticalConcern in the 12 months preceding the claim.
8. Account Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for:
- Violation of these Terms or our community guidelines.
- Behavior that is harmful to other users or the platform.
- Legal or regulatory requirements.
- Extended inactivity (for unverified accounts).
You may delete your account at any time by contacting us at support@politicalconcern.com. Account deletion is permanent and non-recoverable.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration or in a court of competent jurisdiction in the United States, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in that forum.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of PoliticalConcern after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
